Welcome to Terra Cognita 2089

Terra Cognita 2089 is an initiative that deciphers the strategic visions of key players in the multipolar 21st century.
Through research, dialogue, and field analysis, we enhance understanding, foster interconnection, and anticipate global shifts, equipping decision-makers to navigate the complexities of an evolving polycentric century.

Initial step - Q1 2025.

In a world where the future is being shaped at breakneck speed, GEAB (Global Europe Anticipation Bulletin) is inaugurating a new section, Terra Cognita 2089, to refine its short-to-medium-term anticipations and continue to reduce the degree of strategic uncertainty among its readers. We envision a future where Europe, to commemorate its successful global repositioning in 2089, must rekindle the spirit of curiosity that once drove the great explorations.

The aim is twofold:
  1. to sharpen our focus on the multipolar world (spatial deployment) and
  2. to open a wider page of observation of the future with this horizon 2089 (temporal deployment).
This section will borrow from the principles of the “real-future” method of political anticipation. Its description of more distant futures will be based in particular on :

  • the study of strategic documents from countries and regions looking to the future (ASEAN, Saudi Arabia, UAE, African Union, etc.)
  • direct exchanges with players involved in drawing up or implementing these documents
  • field observation of the transformations actually brought about by these documents.
The GEAB will be the place where our Terra Cognita 2089 correspondents will regularly report on the fruits of their observations and the map of the century that will emerge from their explorations.
